Chapter One Section 5
Perimeter and Area
Rectangle: P= 2l + 2w, A= lw
Square: P= 4s(side length) A= side length^2
Triangle: P= a + b + c A=1/2bh
Circle
Diameter: is a segment that passes through the center of the circle and whose endpoints are on the circle.
Radius: of a circle is a segment whose endpoint are the center of the circle and a point on the circle.
Circumference: of a circle is the distance around the circle.
Circumference and Area of a Circle: The circumference C of a circle is given by the formula C=pie(d) pr 2(pie)r. The area A of a circle is given by the formula A=pie(r)^2
